WELCOME BACK BOATERS! Please check with us for a date to open the five locks in Kaukauna–anticipated in July of 2021!

Friday, Saturday & Sunday (including holidays) 11 am- 9pm. 

Open Until 12am (Midnight) Fourth of July.

Locks are operated on the hour.

  • Appleton Lock 1 -Hours of Operations –  (Even Hours) -12:00, 2:00, 4:00, 6:00, 8:00.
  • Appleton Lock 4 -Hours of Operations –  (Odd Hours) – 11:00, 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, 7:00.

Heart of the Valley area locks

DePere Lock Open May 22, 2021 through Sept. 19, 2021
Open Monday – Thursday 10 am- 10 pm
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Fourth of July 10 am- midnight

2021 Fox Locks Fee Schedule

Daily and Season Passes may be purchased at all open Locks.  Please check hours of operation listed above.

Day Pass $10 Recreational

Season Pass – $100

“Motorboat” means any boat equipped with propulsion machinery, whether or not the machinery is the principal source of propulsion, a boat propelled usually by an internal combustion engine.. The term includes but is not listed to powerboat, speedboat, fishing boat, or cabin cruiser.  (for further information on  motorboats, please visit this link)

“Non-Motorized Boat” means a boat which is not propelled by machinery but is designed and constructed to be used for transportation of a person or persons on water. This term includes but is not limited to canoe, sailboat, kayak, inflatable boat, row boat or dingy(for further information on non-motorized boats, please visit this link.)

Commercial Vessels $80 per lockage

“Commercial motorboat” means a motorboat while it is being operated to transport property or passengers for hire or while it is being used by its operator or owner to earn a livelihood or to gain a profit or both. This term includes construction barges. For more information, please visit this link.

Tour boat $80 per trip
“Tour Boat” means a motorboat transporting passengers to gain profit.

Scheduled Paddle Events
$1.00 each with a minimum of 25 participants per lockage
“Scheduled Paddle Events” are publicly advertised at least one month prior to the event in local media outlets and digital platforms.

Special Lockages  – Any lockage taking place outside the posted Lock Schedule or Season, pending staff availability.  These events require 48 hour notice by calling our office. To schedule a special lockage, please call 920-288-7505 or  920-455-9174 or kflesch@foxlocks.org.
